The National Park Service continues to respond to the Eureka Fire in Joshua Tree National Park, with crews working tirelessly to establish containment lines. In an update released on May 31, 2025, a slop over fire was reported on the southeast side of the line early in the morning. However, the teams were able to quickly contain the additional 4 acres of fire.
The Eureka Fire, as of the 9:00am update, has spread to a total of 212 acres within Joshua Tree National Park. Despite the challenging conditions, the containment efforts have been successful to some degree, with 40% of the fire now under control.
