Blue Ridge Parkway Announces Concession Opportunity Application Process Open

June 7, 2025by Ranger Tom0

The National Park Service (NPS) has opened the application process for two concession contracts on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The opportunities involve providing craft sales at the Folk Art Center in Asheville, NC (milepost 382) and boat rental services at Price Lake near Blowing Rock, NC (milepost 297). The details of these opportunities are outlined in newly released prospectus documents.

The Folk Art Center, located at milepost 382, is a popular spot for visitors to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The NPS is seeking a concessionaire to manage craft sales at this location. This opportunity will allow the selected business to showcase the rich tradition of Appalachian arts and crafts to visitors from around the world.

The second opportunity is for a business to provide boat rental services at Price Lake, near Blowing Rock, NC (milepost 297). Price Lake is a popular destination for water activities on the parkway, and this concession will offer visitors a chance to explore the lake’s beauty from the water.

The NPS is committed to providing high-quality visitor services at national parks. These concession opportunities will enhance the visitor experience at the Blue Ridge Parkway, while also providing a unique business opportunity for the selected concessionaires. Interested parties can find more information on the application process on the NPS website.
