UPDATE: Deceased Campers Found at Isle Royale Identified

On Sunday, June 8, 2025, two deceased individuals were discovered at South Lake Desor Campground within the Isle Royale National Park. The identities of the deceased have been confirmed and their respective families have been notified. The circumstances surrounding their deaths remain undisclosed at this time.

The Isle Royale National Park authorities have assured the public that there is no known threat connected to this incident. They are working diligently to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths. More information will be provided as the investigation progresses.

The South Lake Desor Campground, where the bodies were found, is a popular destination within the Isle Royale National Park. The park, known for its isolation and wilderness, is located in Lake Superior and is only accessible by boat or seaplane. However, despite the tragic incident, park operations continue as normal.
