Hunter Goan, a Diné (Navajo) landscape painter and arborist, is currently serving as Rocky Mountain National Park’s Artist-in-Residence. Goan, who also has a background in environmental research, will be hosting two special programs during his residency.
The Artist-in-Residence program at Rocky Mountain National Park offers professional artists the opportunity to become part of a park’s natural and cultural resources. These artists get to live and work in the park for a period of time, allowing them to explore and interpret the park’s remarkable landscapes through their art.
During Goan’s residency, he will host two special programs. These programs will provide a unique opportunity for park visitors to interact with the artist, learn about his work and process, and gain a deeper appreciation for the park’s natural beauty. Specific details about the programs, including dates and locations, will be announced in the near future.
Goan’s work as a landscape painter and arborist, coupled with his background in environmental research, makes him uniquely qualified for this role. His residency and the special programs he will host are sure to enrich the park experience for visitors and contribute to the ongoing preservation and interpretation of Rocky Mountain National Park.
The National Park Service encourages park visitors to take advantage of these special programs and the unique opportunity to learn from and interact with the artist-in-residence. More information will be available on the Rocky Mountain National Park website as the dates for Goan’s special programs approach.
