Starting from September 2, a segment of State Route 123 (SR 123) within Mount Rainier National Park will be completely closed for construction. The closure, which will affect all vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists, will be in place from 6:00 am on Tuesday, September 2 through 6:30 pm on Tuesday, September 30.
The construction project is set to bring significant improvements to the park’s infrastructure. However, during the month-long closure, visitors planning to use this route will need to seek alternative paths.
While the closure may cause some inconvenience, it is necessary for the completion of the construction project. The National Park Service advises park-goers to plan their visit accordingly and check the park’s website for updates on the construction progress and any changes to the closure schedule.
