Volunteers from the Big South Fork Back Country Horsemen organization have contributed to significant improvements at the Station Camp Campground within the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. The group, which is dedicated to preserving and enhancing trails and campsites for horseback riders, completed a series of projects that have resulted in enhanced visitor experiences at the popular campground.
The group’s efforts included repairing and replacing damaged picnic tables, as well as installing new horse tie-outs. They also worked on the campground’s trailhead, improving its accessibility and safety. The work carried out by the volunteers has provided a boost to the campground’s infrastructure, ensuring that it continues to meet the needs of visitors and remains a popular destination for horseback riders.
