National Park Rangers to Assist UNL with Niobrara River Cleanup on National Public Lands Day

In celebration of National Public Lands Day, National Park Rangers from Niobrara National Scenic River will be teaming up with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Outdoor Adventures Program. Their joint mission? A river cleanup event scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27. This collaborative effort will focus on preserving and protecting the natural beauty of the Niobrara River.

National Public Lands Day is a day dedicated to the preservation and improvement of public lands across the United States. It serves as an opportunity for individuals and organizations to come together and contribute to the conservation of these vital natural resources. This year, the Niobrara National Scenic River park rangers and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln are doing their part by focusing their efforts on the Niobrara River cleanup.

The Niobrara River, a part of the Niobrara National Scenic River, is a cherished natural resource. This cleanup event will not only help maintain its beauty, but also ensure its health and longevity for future generations to enjoy. Both the park rangers and the university’s Outdoor Adventures Program are excited to contribute to the preservation of this important national resource.
