The National Park Service (NPS) has announced the reopening of a 26-mile stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway from Asheville to Craggy Gardens. The announcement, made on September 15, comes following the completion of two landslide repair projects located at milepost 375 and 380.
The section of the Parkway that has been opened extends from milepost 382, located in Asheville, North Carolina, to milepost 355.3 at the Ridge Junction Overlook. This location is near NC 80 and marks the entrance to Mount Mitchell State Park.
The reopening of this stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway will allow visitors to once again enjoy the scenic drives, hiking trails, and vistas that the parkway offers. The NPS has thanked the public for their patience during the repair work and is looking forward to welcoming visitors back to this popular section of the parkway.
