Starting Monday, October 6, 2025, Assateague Island National Seashore will embark on a significant paving project. The initiative, led by the National Park Service, will focus on the refurbishment of hard-surfaced parking lots within the Seashore’s Maryland District.
In addition to the parking lots, the project will also include the repaving of the Old Ferry Landing Road. This road is a key access point within the park, and its upgrade will significantly improve accessibility for visitors.
The project’s scope will also extend to all Bayside Camping Loops, ensuring a smoother and safer experience for camping enthusiasts. The comprehensive paving project aims to enhance the overall visitor experience by improving infrastructure and accessibility within Assateague Island National Seashore.
