The burn ban previously in effect across all lands within the North Cascades National Park Service Complex has been lifted, effective Monday, Sept. 29. This decision impacts all National Park Service lands and campgrounds within the complex, including areas in Stehekin, along State Route 20, and the Ross Lake area.
The ban was initially implemented as a safety measure to prevent wildfires, which can be caused by uncontrolled or unsupervised fires in open areas. With the lifting of the ban, visitors to the national park are now allowed to start fires in designated areas, provided they follow safety guidelines.
It’s important to note that while the ban has been lifted, visitors are still urged to exercise caution when starting and maintaining fires in the park. Proper fire safety measures should be adhered to at all times to prevent any potential fire-related incidents.
