The University of Wyoming’s Firearms Research Center (FRC) will collaborate with Springfield Armory National Historic Site to host the 2025 Fall Conference. The conference, titled “Sparking the Revolution: Flintlocks, Gunpowder, and Policy in America’s War for Independence,” is scheduled for November 20-21, 2025. The event will delve into the historical context and significance of firearms and their role in the American Revolution.
The conference is open to the public and free of charge. It will be available both in-person and virtually, ensuring accessibility for interested parties regardless of their geographic location. The event promises to be an insightful exploration of the intersection of historical firearms, policy, and the American War for Independence.
In addition to the general public, the conference is particularly relevant for legal professionals as select sessions will qualify for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit. This offers an opportunity for legal practitioners to expand their knowledge in this specialized area while fulfilling their professional development requirements. More details about the conference can be found on the National Park Service website.
