Weir Farm National Historic Park (NHP) has announced an open call for its 2026 Artist-in-Residence program. The program offers artists a unique opportunity to live and work within the park for a month-long period, drawing inspiration from the same landscapes that inspired American Impressionist painter J. Alden Weir and other notable artists.
The Artist-in-Residence program is open to all professional American visual artists, including painters, photographers, and sculptors. To be considered, applicants must submit a portfolio of work, a statement of purpose, and a description of the project they intend to undertake during their residency. The selection process is competitive, with a panel of professional artists and arts administrators reviewing all submissions.
The residency includes accommodation in a historic house located within the park, as well as access to the park’s 60 acres of woodland, fields, and waterways. The selected artist will also have the opportunity to interact with park visitors and share their work through demonstrations or workshops. The application period for the 2026 Artist-in-Residence program at Weir Farm NHP is now open and will close on a date yet to be announced.
