Historic ordnance discovered during excavation

National Park Service preservationists discovered evidence of buried historic ordnance on Friday, November 21. The discovery was made in the early afternoon during an excavation process. As per standard operating procedures, the park was immediately evacuated and closed to ensure the safety of the visitors and staff.
