Hurricane Erin, a recent weather event, prompted concerns about potential harm to the park’s infrastructure and natural resources. NPS has been proactive in its response, promptly initiating a thorough evaluation of the park following the storm’s passing.

Despite the intensity of Hurricane Erin, it appears that Cape Lookout National Seashore has largely weathered the storm without significant harm. The NPS will continue to monitor the situation and conduct a detailed assessment to ensure the park’s continued safety and preservation.
