ACTUALIZACIÓN-EL SITIO HISTÓRICO NACIONAL DE SAN JUAN INICIARÁ EL REEMPLAZO DE CÉSPED EN LOS TERRENOS DEL CASTILLO SAN FELIPE DEL MORRO

September 20, 2025by Ranger Tom0

The San Juan National Historic Site has announced the launch of a lawn reseeding project, initially announced in November of the previous year. The ground-penetrating radar assessment and archaeological study have been completed, paving the way for work to commence on Monday, September 15, 2025.

Visitors are reminded that this project will necessitate the temporary closure of plot A, located in the esplanade of the Castillo San Felipe del Morro. This closure is necessary to allow for vital land renovation works to be carried out.

The project is part of the National Park Service’s commitment to preserving the cultural landscape, enhancing the visitor experience, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the park’s resources. The San Juan National Historic Site serves as an important cultural and historical landmark, and these renovations will help ensure its preservation for future generations.
