Dome Fire Update, September 24, 2026 (morning)

The Dome Fire grew by 194 acres as of the morning of September 24, 2026, according to an update from Yosemite National Park.

Wildland firefighters made progress connecting handlines to the Bridalveil Creek trail system and the footprint of the 2017 Empire Fire. These connections are intended to strengthen efforts to contain the blaze.

Crews are also continuing to establish contingency lines off Glacier Point Road, providing additional options if fire activity increases or shifts.
