Dinosaur National Monument has lifted its Stage II fire restrictions as of September 12, 2025. The fire restriction order was originally put into place on August 1, 2025, due to hazardous fire conditions. The decision to rescind the order comes after careful consideration of the current fire risk in the area.
The lifting of the restrictions will allow visitors to resume activities such as campfires and smoking outdoors, which were previously prohibited under the Stage II restrictions. The park authorities remind visitors to continue to exercise caution and follow all fire safety guidelines to prevent wildfires.
Despite the rescinding of the fire restrictions, park officials stress the importance of fire safety. Visitors are urged to keep their campfires small, never leave them unattended, and ensure they are completely extinguished before leaving. The park continues to monitor fire conditions and may reinstate restrictions if necessary.
