Backcountry campground in Death Valley National Park partially reopens after fire

Death Valley National Park has partially reopened Saline Valley Warm Springs Campground following a fire in the remote backcountry area. The National Park Service reopened part of the campground on September 17.

The burned section at Lower Springs remains closed to all public entry under an order issued by the park superintendent. Visitors should obey posted restrictions and avoid entering the affected area.

The partial reopening restores access to portions of the campground while protecting visitors and allowing officials to manage the fire-damaged site.
