Cave tours resume at Wind Cave National Park

Great Smoky Mountains National Park announces selection of park concessioner to operate LeConte Lodge

After a brief suspension due to an issue with an elevator’s transformer, Wind Cave National Park has resumed its popular cave tours. The tours were suspended last week, but as of Wednesday, May 7, they are back in operation. The National Park Service announced the resumption of the tours, much to the delight of visitors who flock to this unique national park to explore its underground wonders.

The issue with the elevator’s transformer posed a safety concern, leading to the temporary halt of the tours. Ensuring the safety of visitors is a top priority for the National Park Service, hence the decision to suspend the tours while the issue was being addressed. The problem has now been resolved, and the elevator is functioning normally.

Wind Cave National Park, known for its complex and beautiful cave systems, offers a unique experience for tourists. The resumption of the cave tours is expected to draw in a significant number of visitors, eager to explore the intricate underground passages of the park. The National Park Service is looking forward to welcoming back visitors and providing them with an unforgettable experience.
