Dome Fire Update, September 20, 2026 (morning)

The Dome Fire remained active overnight, expanding by 283 acres along its northern edges, according to a September 20 morning update from Yosemite National Park.

The fire continues to spread into the footprint of the 2017 Empire Fire. Firefighters are focusing Sunday’s efforts on three priority areas as they work to limit further growth.

Crews are responding to spot fires east of Turner Meadow and in Empire Meadows, along with isolated hot spots detected near the Chilnualna Falls area overnight.
