Grand Canyon National Park Announces Projected Dates for Restoring Water to South Rim

Grand Canyon National Park expects to begin pumping water from the Bright Angel Creek intake to its new water treatment plant by Nov. 16, according to construction timelines released by the National Park Service Incident Management Team.

The projected milestone is part of ongoing work to restore the South Rim’s water supply. Once pumping begins, the park will need to treat and move water through the system before normal service can resume.

The timeline remains dependent on construction progress and successful operation of the new infrastructure. Park officials are continuing to monitor the work and will provide updates as restoration efforts advance.
