Dyea Flats Road construction to cause temporary closures, delays

Travelers on Dyea Flats Road should prepare for delays and temporary closures from Oct. 15 through Nov. 23 as crews carry out construction in Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park.

The project will replace culverts and repair the roadway near the Slide Cemetery and the turnoff for the Lost Lake Trailhead. The work will affect both visitors and local residents using the route.

The National Park Service will announce updated closure dates and road conditions as construction progresses. Current information will be posted on the park’s Alerts and Conditions webpage and shared through KHNS and Skagway Police Department Nixle notifications.
