Flooding in Big Bend National Park

Great Smoky Mountains National Park announces selection of park concessioner to operate LeConte Lodge

Big Bend National Park in Texas has experienced significant flash floods and wet conditions due to heavy rainfall over the past few days. The flooding has notably affected the Rio Grande area. The National Park Service (NPS) has issued a warning for visitors, urging them to exercise caution while visiting the park.

The NPS is closely monitoring the situation, and park rangers are on high alert. They are working to assess the damage and clear up the debris caused by the floods. The Park Service has also suggested that visitors check the park’s website for updates on the situation before planning their visit.

The flood conditions have resulted in some road closures within the park. The NPS has not yet released a timeline for when these areas will be accessible again. Visitors are encouraged to stay safe and follow the NPS’s instructions and updates. The full extent of the damage caused by the flooding is still being assessed.
