Most of Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Reopens Following Hurricane Nolo

Most of Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park has reopened following Hurricane Nolo, including areas around Kīlauea summit and the park’s Kahuku Unit.

The reopening restores public access to many of the park’s major destinations after storm-related closures. Visitors should remain cautious, as conditions may vary and some locations or services could still be affected by hurricane damage.

Park officials encourage visitors to check current alerts and operating conditions before arriving, follow posted closures and use extra care on roads and trails as recovery work continues.
