Pedal The Parkway

Great Smoky Mountains National Park announces selection of park concessioner to operate LeConte Lodge

The Colonial National Historical Park is inviting the public to participate in a unique event, “Pedal The Parkway,” scheduled for May 5, 2025. The event will allow participants to ride bicycles or walk along a seven-mile stretch of the Colonial Parkway. This activity is part of the park’s initiatives to encourage active engagement with nature and history.

The Colonial Parkway is a scenic route that connects significant historical sites in Virginia. It offers breathtaking views of the James and York Rivers and provides a glimpse into the region’s rich colonial history. The “Pedal The Parkway” event is an opportunity for visitors to explore this beautiful area in a different way, either by cycling or walking.

Further details about “Pedal The Parkway,” including registration information, starting times, and safety measures, can be found on the National Park Service’s website. The park encourages everyone, regardless of their fitness level or age, to participate in this event and enjoy the beauty of the Colonial National Historical Park.
