Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Accepting Applications for 2026 & 2027 Commercial Operating Seasons

Great Smoky Mountains National Park announces selection of park concessioner to operate LeConte Lodge

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore has announced that it is now accepting applications for commercial operating seasons in 2026 and 2027. The application window opened on November 19, 2025, and will run until January 19, 2025. This opportunity allows businesses to apply for permits to operate within the park, offering services like guided tours, food and beverage sales, and recreational equipment rentals.

The National Park Service (NPS) oversees the application process, ensuring that all commercial operations align with the park’s mission and commitment to preserving its natural resources. This process is part of the NPS’s ongoing efforts to balance visitor enjoyment with the preservation of the park’s unique landscapes and ecosystems.

Interested businesses can find more information and submit their applications on the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore website. The NPS encourages all potential applicants to review the park’s commercial services plan and other relevant documents to understand the park’s specific needs and restrictions before applying. Applications will be evaluated based on the proposed services’ potential to enhance visitor experiences while minimizing environmental impact.
