Wildfire reported on West Rim of Zion National Park

Great Smoky Mountains National Park announces selection of park concessioner to operate LeConte Lodge 

A wildfire has been reported in the West Rim area of Zion National Park, Springdale, Utah. The fire, which is estimated to cover approximately 25 acres, was reported to park staff around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Wildland firefighters have been deployed to the area to combat the blaze.

The cause of the fire has been identified as a lightning strike. At this time, it is unclear how long it will take to fully extinguish the fire or what the potential damage to the park might be.
