National Park Service Seeks Public Input on Future of Amache National Historic Site

The National Park Service is asking the public to comment on preliminary proposals for the future of Amache National Historic Site in Colorado. The feedback will help shape the site’s first general management plan.

The proposed concepts present different approaches to preserving Amache’s historic resources, interpreting its history, improving visitor access and managing park operations. Amache preserves the site where thousands of Japanese Americans were incarcerated during World War II.

Public participation will help the National Park Service determine how to protect the site while expanding opportunities for visitors to understand its history. Community input will be considered as the agency develops a long-term vision for Amache.
