Dome Fire Update, October 4, 2026 (morning)

Fire activity at the Dome Fire increased Saturday as temperatures remained well above normal and dry conditions persisted, according to an October 4 morning update from Yosemite National Park.

Crews planned to construct additional handline along the fire’s eastern side Sunday. Firefighters were also continuing to address spot fires that emerged during previous days.

The ongoing work is intended to strengthen containment efforts as hot, dry weather continues to influence fire behavior. Officials are monitoring conditions and adjusting operations as needed.
