Grand Canyon National Park Seeks Public Comment on Trans-Canyon Telephone Line
The National Park Service is seeking public input on a proposal involving the historic Trans-Canyon Telephone Line at Grand Canyon National Park. The project aims to address safety hazards associated with portions of the line while protecting significant elements of the National Register-listed resource.
Under the proposal, hazardous sections of the telephone line would be removed or marked. Park officials are weighing how to improve visitor safety while preserving the line’s important historic features.
The 15-day public comment period runs from Oct. 28 through midnight on Nov. 11, 2026. Feedback submitted during that window will help inform the National Park Service’s review of the proposal.
