Additional Airlifts Planned for LeConte Lodge Recreation Building Demolition Project Oct. 6-9
Great Smoky Mountains National Park plans additional airlifts from Oct. 6-9 to remove debris from the demolished LeConte Lodge Recreation Building.
Flights are scheduled between 9 a.m. and noon each day. Park officials said hazardous weather could delay operations or extend airlifts beyond the planned window.
The park is continuing to adjust the project around adverse weather conditions while prioritizing the safety of workers and others involved.
