Blue Ridge Parkway Completes Historic 75-Mile Road Rehabilitation Project

The National Park Service has completed a historic rehabilitation of 75 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Western North Carolina. The project, valued at more than $100 million, represents a major investment in one of the country’s most visited national park sites.

The extensive work was designed to improve road conditions, safety and long-term durability along the scenic corridor. Upgrades will help preserve reliable access for residents and millions of visitors who travel the parkway for its mountain views, recreation opportunities and nearby attractions.

Completion of the project marks a significant milestone for the Blue Ridge Parkway and its surrounding communities, where tourism is an important part of the regional economy. The improvements are expected to strengthen the route’s infrastructure while supporting continued public enjoyment of the landscape.
