Dome Fire Update, September 29, 2026 (morning)

The Dome Fire grew by 177 acres since Monday morning and was 34% contained as of September 29, 2026, according to an update from the National Park Service.

Fire activity slowed Monday as cooler temperatures and higher relative humidity helped limit the blaze’s spread. At the same time, firefighters continued making progress on containment.

Officials warned that warmer, drier conditions are expected to return to the region for the remainder of the week, potentially increasing fire activity and complicating suppression efforts.
