Denali Park Road and Campground to Reopen, All Bus Traffic to Resume at 6 a.m. on Monday, September 1, 2025

Great Smoky Mountains National Park announces selection of park concessioner to operate LeConte Lodge 

The National Park Service has announced the reopening of the Denali Park Road and the Igloo Creek Campground on Monday, September 1, 2025. The section of the road from Teklanika rest area westbound will be accessible to the public from 6 a.m. onwards. This reopening also signifies the resumption of all bus traffic along the route.

The reopening comes as a relief to park visitors who utilize the road and campground facilities. The Denali Park Road is a crucial access route to the park’s attractions, and its closure had significantly impacted the visitor experience.
