Fire Restrictions Lifted at Black Canyon and Curecanti
Recent significant rainfall has prompted the National Park Service to lift Stage 1 fire restrictions at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and Curecanti National Recreation Area.
The restrictions will end at 12:01 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2026. The order had limited certain activities to reduce wildfire risk during drier conditions.
Visitors should continue to use caution with campfires and other potential ignition sources and follow all park rules, as fire danger can change with weather and local conditions.
